Job Title: Program and Outreach Specialist

Reports to: Director of Programming

Status: Full Time

 

General Description:

The Program and Outreach Specialist is responsible for developing and presenting human trafficking awareness programs to diverse audiences based on accurate, up-to-date information. The Program and Outreach Specialist will interact with the northeast Ohio area community through presentations and other outreach programs to raise awareness of labor and sex trafficking so that victims are identified and have access to needed services. As part of the program team, this position will also assist with managing the coordination of Greater Cleveland’s Coordinated Response to Human Trafficking – GCCR2HT (Northeast Ohio’s Anti-Trafficking Coalition) and the organization’s community engagement program.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze information regarding the complexities of human trafficking so as to produce accurate, up-to-date information available to the staff and community
  • Interact with the public regarding the issue so that victims are identified and have access to needed services
  • Develop and present human trafficking awareness programs addressing labor and sex trafficking
  • Collect and manage information regarding the Collaborative’s human trafficking programs
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of human trafficking awareness programs/events
  • Assists with the development and implementation of the Human Trafficking Happens Here Too public awareness campaign.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

The Program and Outreach Specialist needs strong organizational, research, and analysis skills, the ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech, and the technical knowledge and ability to use social media. The qualified candidate will have work experience in education, social services, law, health care or a related field, the ability to collaborate, and a commitment to the mission of the Collaborative and those affected by human trafficking.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of successful work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the issue of human trafficking and its complexities
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with a diversity of individuals and organizations.
  • Flexibility, creativity and adaptability.
  • Ability to travel in the region.
