Strengthening Awareness and Education

Preventing human trafficking requires a community that is informed, connected, and equipped to act early. This year, partners across Greater Cleveland continued to build those conditions — and the Collaborative helped strengthen the systems that make coordinated prevention possible. Survivor leadership expanded, cross-sector collaboration deepened, and more people gained the tools to recognize early signs of risk.

Our 2024–2025 Impact Report reflects steady progress toward a more aligned regional response — one where prevention is prioritized, partners share a common understanding, and survivors have greater opportunities to heal, thrive, and lead.

This year’s impact at a glance:

  • 3,277 professionals and community members trained across healthcare, housing, education, and law enforcement — a 49% increase from the previous year.
  • 54 trainings delivered, with 83% co-facilitated by Survivor Advisory Committee members, ensuring lived experience shaped every session.
  • 32,000+ people engaged through digital education on LinkedIn and other online platforms.
  • 5,223 individuals taking action through the Humans Over Human Trafficking campaign.
  • Advocacy efforts contributing to $9 million in statewide funding, helping preserve critical survivor services.
  • Hosted Ohio’s first Statewide Human Trafficking Advocacy Day, bringing survivors, providers, and policymakers together to advance prevention.
  • Launched the Greater Cleveland Coordinated Response Leadership Council, aligning strategies across public health, government, law enforcement, and nonprofit sectors.

These efforts continue to shift how our region listens, responds, and collaborates — ensuring those on the front lines have the knowledge, tools, and partnerships needed to recognize trafficking earlier and support survivors more effectively.
